肆、常見Q&A

PSAT?Why should I take the PSAT?

Q1: Why should I take the PSAT?

  1. PSAT could be a prediction of SAT. Students will know how to prepare for the SAT.
  2. PSAT could predict your AP potential and you can see if you need to take AP in high school.
  3. It’s the preparation for SAT(Scholastic Assessment Test). The SAT Suite of Assessments helps students navigate their path through high school toward college and career, and offers a range of unique benefits to students.Opens Doors to College: The SAT is an admission test that’s widely accepted by U.S. colleges, and the College Board has programs to encourage all students to take advantage of higher education. Income-eligible SAT takers receive college application fee waivers and all students can opt in to Student Search Service® to receive free information about admission and financial aid from colleges, universities, and scholarship programs.
  4. Most international schools require students to take PSAT.
  5. Higher chances for students who take PSAT.

Q2: I am not going to study in the U.S. Should I take the SAT?

Yes, Curriculum designed in KCISLK is based on Common Core courses in the U.S. Colleges outside the U.S such as Japan, Singapore, UK or Austria will ask students to submit SAT or ACT scores. Therefore, if you are not intended to study in the U.S, you should take the SAT.

Question: Many universities in the United States say that the SAT test is optional, so is it okay if I don’t take the test?

Answer: Many people usually forget a premise when interpreting the news and policies of American universities. The United States is “American First”, which means that the premise of “This is talking about Americans” must be added before reading the news. International students are “Iffy Students” , which means that you are already a minority. Test Optional is mainly based on Americans. International students already need to pay more attention to prove themselves. Last year, all examination venues in the United States were cancelled. In contrast, there are five SAT exams a year which can be held in Kang Chiao International School Linkou Campus.

Question: My agency says that I don’t need to take the SAT exam.

Answer: Please let your agency contact us.

Question: Could I retake the exam if I get bad scores?

Answer: You can choose not to hand in your grades to the university, or you can evaluate your circumstances to take the SAT again during G11.
