Reminder: G10 TOEFL IELTS mock test submission

Frequent Asked Questions :

Q1:Can I take TOEFL or IELTS mock test only once?

A1:Of course not. You can take mock tests as many times as you wish and choose one test result to submit. The more mock tests you take, the better scores you will get. Taking mock tests will help you familiarize yourself with questions types, manage time during the test at a proper pace, and be more confident when facing a real test. Thus, CLC began to require students to prepare for TOEFL or IELTS in the first semester of G10.

Q2:What if I did meet the requirement of target scores set by the school?

A2:It is Okay if you do not achieve the target score this semester. But you still need to turn in the test result of TOEFL or IELTS mock tests. The test result won’t affect your total scores of this class. However, this test result should be seen as a warning of a need for more effort during the winter break: do more practice tests or work on academic vocabulary. We hope you can make progress in the second semester of G10.

Q3:I do not know which test I should take. TOEFL or IELTS?

A3:Most colleges accepts either TOEFL or IELTS as a requirement of language proficiency tests. Roughly speaking, if you intend studying in the UK or Australia, you are suggested to take IELTS. If you intend studying in the U.S or Canada, you are suggested to take TOEFL. But there is no certain answer for this since most colleges accept either one. So, You can take both mock tests to see which test mode fits you the best.

Q4:When could I take the TOEFL or IELTS offical tests?

A4: The validity period of TOEFL or IELTS is two years. And, if your mock tests scores are higher than TOEFL 80 or IELTS 6.5, you are encouraged to take the official tests in the second semester of G10. Students are all taught to create their own accounts and learn how to register for a test in the class. We will ask students to take official tests in G11.

Q5:Does the school provide TOEFL or IELTS mock tests?

At the beginning of this semester, we shared the test information in emails. CLC has held five TOEFL mocks tests so far, and they were fully booked last month. Also, CLC has worked with the British Council to hold two IELTS Academic tests this semester. If you still haven’t arranged your mock tests, please click this link for off-campus resources for mock tests.
